The Transport Manager Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transport Compliance Officer to play a central role in ensuring the continued compliance of our HGV artic and rigid vehicle operations across multiple sites throughout the UK. You will be responsible for auditing and monitoring all aspects of our transport operations, from driver licensing and vehicle maintenance to load security and working hours regulations. This is a critical role for ensuring the safety and efficiency of our transport network, and we are looking for a candidate with a proven track record of success in a similar environment.

Transport Manager Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular audits of all aspects of our HGV operations, including driver documentation, vehicle maintenance records, load security, and working hours compliance.
- Investigate and resolve any compliance issues identified during audits, working closely with drivers, managers, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all audits conducted and actions taken.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to managers and drivers on all aspects of transport compliance.
- Stay up to date with the latest changes in transport legislation and regulations, ensuring our operations remain compliant.
- Develop and implement new compliance procedures and initiatives as required.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with drivers, managers, and other stakeholders across the business.
- Liaise with external bodies such as the DVSA and Traffic Commissioners as required.

Essential:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working as a Transport Compliance Officer or in a similar role.
- CPC Holder
- Thorough understanding of UK and EU transport legislation and regulations for HGV operations.
- Excellent auditing and investigative skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must reside within the wider Northern region but willing to travel regularly to different sites across the UK.
- Full UK driving licence (valid in UK)
- Experience of managing and reporting on compliance data.
- Experience of working with multiple sites or a geographically dispersed operation.
- Experience of using transport compliance software.
- Member of a recognised transport compliance professional body.
